You can also consult this special issue of the ''Ombres et Lumière'' magazine on the following web site  And now what if … If, during the five days of the Faith and Light pilgrimage, despite their suffering, parents from all over the world have found hope, If, for them, after the darkness of Good Friday, a new day dawned at Easter, if they have discovered that, far from being a medical failure, their child is loved by God our Father, He who reveals his mysteries to the poor in spirit, and the little children, If parents have forged links of friendship with other parents and have come out of their solitude forever, If the pilgrims passing through, the journalists, and the inhabitants of Lourdes were surprised at the joy that persons with an intellectual disability express, once they know that they are loved and are called to love others, Then there will be a little more happiness on earth and much more joy in heaven. If parents and friends bear witness to many men and women of goodwill that this child is a source of wealth for those who gather around him, If this discovery contributes towards preventing the elimination and abandonment of a child that doesn't correspond to societies norms becoming common place, If, following this pilgrimage, communities multiply and spread in all the corners of the world because they opened up to new families and new young people, If each Faith and Light community is a place for love, forgiveness and celebration, if each parish, each Christian or human community, invites into its very heart the poor, the sick, the lame and the blind, Then, the land that was desert will become an irrigated garden, like an inexhaustible spring of water. |
