Christmas!

Merry Christmas !

Dear Brothers and Sisters of Faith and Light,

What a joy it is to join you today, simply to wish each and every one of you a “Merry Christmas”.
“Merry Christmas” in your hearts, in your families, in your communities!
Just like the poor shepherds, let’s draw closer, let’s come to adore baby Jesus.. Don’t be afraid.
God made himself so tiny to come and join and fulfil those who are hungry and thirsty for his Life. We are at home close to Jesus who is reaching out his arms to us! He is offering himself to us, fragile and vunerable, to teach us to love according to his heart.

Isn’t that one of the secrets of Christmas that we experience in a very particular way in our communtities? God chose to come and hide himself in the poor person, to make His dwelling place within him, His work within him, and to heal us, through him.

Each Faith and Light Community can become an extraordinary school of compasion and communion. Whether we are a parent, a chaplain or a friend, whether we have a mental handicap or not, whatever our fragilities are, it is by learning tenderly to love some one who needs to be consoled that we welcome Jesus himself into our hearts! Little by little, we will come to recognise the living presence of Jesus hidden in the person who is poor, wounded, rejected and also in ourselves.

In our communities, we are responsible for continuously deepening this mystery of the presence of God hidden in the poor and also to bear witness to this all around us.
Yes, each of our communities, in the “Faith” and the Jubilation of Christmas, is called to be “Light” among the shadows of our world : that is our mission!

Dear friends, today, I pray with you that the Joy and the Peace of Christmas may spread across our earth, that God will fulfil each one of you in his Tenderness, and that each of us, in the place where we live, may be the artisans of peace and joy, gentle and humble of heart, given up entirely to Jesus. In deep communion, I wish you a Merry Christmas, for every day of this coming year!
