As I did not know this movement, and being free that day, I decided to go to it. I found a large number of disabled young people accompanied by friends in a pleasant and joyful ambiance. I shared the meal. I admired the patience and courage of the parents, some of whose children took up all their time. The atmosphere was, to be sure, lively, but reflected a peaceful joy. At the end of the day, we celebrated the Eucharist. The Mass was a little noisy and disturbed, which was understandable. But a sign which does not deceive: the only moment of silence was at the consecration.. This meeting has, in some way, given substance to our week’s work. It has occupied me throughout the synod.
